|PASSING OF OUR FIRE CHIEF
||The Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District is saddened to announce the death of our Fire Chief, Darrell Raburn. Chief Raburn passed away suddenly at his home in Bullhead City on Monday morning, July 21, 2014. He faithfully served the communities of Fort Mojave Mesa and Bullhead City for 23 years.
Chief Raburn started his carrerr with Bullhead City Fire Department as a Firefighter, promoting to the position of Fire Investigator/Fire Inspector. He continued his career with the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District as Fire Marshal, promoting to Fire Chief in 2014.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 12:00 pm at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1691 North Oatman Road, Bullhead City, AZ with a reception immediately following the service at Desert Valley School, 1066 Marina Blvd in Bullhead City, AZ.
A Memorial Fund has been set up in his honor at Wells Fargo Bank, Account # 1376323794.

Welcome to the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department’s (FMMFD) Website. We are an organization of 40 dedicated, community service oriented people that serve more than 15,000 residents and its visitors. We are also an all-risk public safety agency. This means we respond to all emergencies and hazards with the exception of those that are the responsibility of law enforcement.
The Fort Mojave Mesa community is located in Northwest Arizona directly on the borders of California and Nevada. Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department is a special district and recognized as an unincorporated political subdivision of the State of Arizona located in Mohave County. Leadership is provided by five “at large” elected Board of Directors serving on overlapping four year terms.
Our services include: fire suppression, technical rescue and advanced life support, including paramedic ambulance transport services and a full range of fire prevention, consulting, and investigative services. We provide these services through Administration, Prevention, Training, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Medical Services, and two strategically located fire stations with a minimum of 11 people on duty daily.
We strive for economic development by streamlining our processes for business efficiency while seeking revenue opportunities to offset our operational expenses. We support employee well-being and productivity through training, career development, an employee wellness and fitness program, and a collaborative working environment.
